Minutes of Staffin Community Council held in Staffin School on 1 st November 2005

Minutes of the previous meeting were proposed by Janet and seconded by Sheena

Matters Arising

  1. Fire Brigade: Things may be beginning to happen. We are awaiting further updates and matter pending until that time
  1. A855: Still awaiting repairs. Matter pending until repairs completed
  1. Village Officer: We are going to go for the village officer. Letter to be done asking for the grant by Sylvia
  1. 3 houses Flodigarry township. There is to be a planning meeting on 31 st October
  1. Bus shelters: The glass is missing in the one at Marishadder junction, no update on dig and Ellishadder. Les to speak to Richard Cairns
  1. Local Channel: Stay open until Angus back for any feed back

Treasurers Report:

There is £1130-04 in the account, although a cheque has been issued for £40 for the wreaths this has not been cashed yet.

Highland Council Business:

There is nothing concerning us from the council meetings and planning meetings.

We have been given Development Plan Policy Guidance for Housing in the Countryside as amended Aug 2005. This will be kept in the file

Planning Applications:

3 houses at 1/2 6 Valtos

Local Plan Meeting:

Local planning meeting: Well attended, suggestions have been made into the changes of boundaries for planning. There may be a further meeting in New Year before they are implemented.

Drug and Alcohol Forum

A letter has been received regarding a number of drug and alcohol forums. There are no takers from here

Due to the winter forecast to ask for grit to be put on the township roads sooner rather than later
