Minutes of Staffin Community Council held in Staffin School on 4 th July 2006

Present:

Les Downes (Chair), Sylvia Porter (Acting Secretary), Isobel MacDonald

Apologies:

Maolios Caimbeul, Sheena MacLeod, Janet Lamont, Angus MacLeod

The previous minutes were proposed and seconded by Les and Sylvia, as there was nobody else able to do it. There were not enough members present for a quorum, so no decisions were made.

Matters arising

  1. Fire Brigade: The temporary building is now up, but we are not sure if operational yet. The matter to stay open until then
  2. Potholes: It has been noted that the yellow spray paint has been used around Staffin, presumably pending repairs, but the Bealach is still very bad. Les to inform Harold Yates and Richard Cairns.
  3. Village Officer: Nothing heard as yet. The matter to stay open until we hear something
  4. Bins Slip: Still not secured, and are both over full. Les to inform the council and ask them to empty them more regularly.
  5. No camping signs: Still no signs, and the campers are beginning to arrive. Les to chase the matter up
  6. Inspector Donald MacLean: Les has still not managed to arrange a meeting
  7. Caravan at Ellishadder: Matter in the hands of the planning office. Closed
  8. Drains at Breckery: Still not been done. Les to speak to the council
