Minutes of Staffin Community Council held in Staffin School 7th March 2006
Present:

Apologies:
Norma Young, Sheena MacLeod, Angus MacLeod, Isobel MacDonald
There were not enough members for a quorum. Also the minutes could not be approved, as only Sylvia and Les were present at the previous meeting.
Matters Arising:
Fire Brigade: A letter has been received from the Fire Master thanking us for inviting him to the meeting. He is looking at alternative buildings for the fire station as discussed at the previous meeting. Matter to be left open. From David MacVicar (factor) has stated that the delay is due to the landowner not agreeing to the compensation figure and signing the consent form for the permanent site (at the time of the phone call – it may have been done now)
A855: Still ongoing problems. To stay open indefinitely
Village Officer: We still have time to apply for the money before 31st March, but not enough of us present to make a decision, so to be discussed next time if enough members present
Bins at Slip: Richard Cairns will have a look a the situation
Bus Shelters: All completed
CC AGM: Due to the time of it in Broadford, no one able to attend (there was no-one present from any North End CC’s due to the time). Matter closed
Bones at Cemetery: Due to the weather no one has been up to check to see if they have been cleared.
Beach Signs: No enquiries have been made as Harold Yates is having a sign made and will erect it.
Angus MacLeod: Although moved from the area, can stay on the CC, as a co-opted member but has no voting rights
