Minutes of Staffin Community Council held in Staffin School on 4 th October 2005

Minutes of the previous meeting were approved by Angus and seconded by Norma

 

Matters Arising:

  1. Fire Brigade: There has been a lot of correspondence between the council and the fire brigade authorities, on both the temporary and permanent buildings. The Staffin Brigade are fed up with the lack of movement, and we are still at the stage we were 4 or 5 years ago

 

  1. Insurance: Still not been back in touch. Matter closed

 

  1. A855: Still on going problem. To remain open

 

  1. Village Officer: We have had a reply form Harold Yates about the village officer. We need to find out what we can use the money for. Suggestions are horticultural displays, improvements to War Memorial area, planting in the verges. A letter to be done to township clerks regarding the wandering sheep

 

  1. Benefits: nothing received matter closed

 

  1. Overnight Camping: as the season is now finished, it is not a problem. To re look at the problem after Christmas before the season starts again

 

  1. 3 Houses Flodigarry Township: There is to be a planning meeting to discuss the 3 houses at Flodigarry on 31-10-05

 

Treasurers Report:

At present there is £1130-04 in the account. No outstanding bills, although the bill for wreaths will arrive shortly

 

Highland Council Business:

Community planning meeting 2pm at Inverness on 2-11-05. No takers

Development control and building standards questionnaire

Minutes of previous meeting – no takers

Licensing committee – nothing our area

Bus shelters Digg and Ellishadder (or lack of) – awaiting compensation from Storm fund to replace them

 

 

 

 

Planning:

Bench at Kilt Rock – no objections

Open Meeting regarding the new planning regulations 24-10-05 at Staffin Hall

AOCB:

Picnic tables at the war memorial will not have the top shelters replaced

 

Next Meeting:

The next meeting will be 7-30pm Tuesday 1 st November at the school

Meeting closed at 8-30pm
