Lamont Date: 1507 MacLaomain - Lamonts are associated with Geàros. There is reference in a royal letter of protection to a Lamont having been Trotternish in the year 1507. And this last century there have been so many of the name Ross in Ellishadder that local people called it Ross-shire.
