Person John Stewart, an Stiùbhartach Mor |
| In 1851, John Stewart was the tenant of Sartail and Flodaigearaidh tacs. He was known as An Stiùbhartach Mór. John Stewart also had the tack for Duntulm. But the last man to have Sartail when it was a tac was Seonaidh Gillies (Iain Choinnich 'ain ic Thormoid). After World War I, Sartail was made into crofts. As you go up towards Sartail, there is a ruin on your right which was known as tobhta Mairi 'ain ic Uisdein. Mairi had been the second wife of Iain Macleod whose first wife had tragically perished on the tac mor while walking home from Portree. | |
