Description At the base of Dun Mór, was where dyatomite was mined late last century and in the early part of this century. The dyatomite was hauled to the pier at the shore of Digg (Port a' Bhlunden). Overhead buggies ran on an endless hauser with the full buggy, descending to the shore, pulling the empty ones back up to the quarry. The dyatomite was then taken away by boat to be processed elsewhere. |
