Translation the point of land extending into the sea. |

Description This point was seen as a place of safety. Often during bad weather boats would be running from the storm and fishermen knew that if they reached am Beannachan they they would manage the rest of their journey in safety. They were said to be full of gratitude at reaching this point - 'lan taingealachd an uair a ruigeadh iad am Beannachan'. |
