Description

At one time before the pier was built at Uig it was proposed to build the new pier, to service the Western Isles at Staffin. The pier was to be built on Stenscholl island and a bridge was to connect the island to the shore. However, due to disagreement within the community about its location and an alternative proposal for it to be built at Bhaltos, the development re-routed to Uig.
