Translation the hollow of the small loch. |
|
Description This loch had a small island in the middle and was a popular landing and feeding area for wild ducks. (See an Drena mhór). It stretched from croit Mhurchaidh Mhór to croit Padruig Chameron. The loch was filled by numerous wells where were mostly drained away to join an Drena mór. However, one was kept open for use until a young girl fell in and was drowned, at which point it was decided to close the well. |
