Description Glas talamh was a term used to describe a field which had been grassed but was now ploughed. The following year, if turned again it would be referred to as 'athcheabach' and the third year, if ploughed, as 'cumhlach' Potatoes would often be planted in the second or third year and the soil would then be refered to as atharnach. |
