Description Steins fjall (n) In 1841 Stenscholl had a population of 207 people. These were evenly divided between 104 female and 103 males. As a comparison Flodigarry, which was a farm at the time had only 14 people, 10 females and four males. By 1958 the population of Stenscholl had fallen to 47 people and 34 occupied houses. The population of Stenscholl parish in 1839 was 1736 from 320 families. 959 of them were below 12! (1841 was the year when the highest population was recorded in Skye with 23,082 people living on the Island). In 1882 Stenscholl had 10 cottors, Digg 14, Brogaig 11, Glasphein 5 and Marrishader 2. |
