Staffin Framework... (working document)
Local organisations in Staffin are working on a range of projects essential to the future vitality of the community. The following local bodies have come together to agree a joint framework to ensure that each component project is developed as a strategic element of a holistic plan: Staffin Community Council, Staffin Community Trust, Staffin Hall Committee, Staffin Youth Club and Forum, Sradagan, Croileagan and the Columba 1400 Community & Leadership Centre. Staffin Framework maps out the relationship and synergy between planned projects, and the contribution that each project makes towards community dynamics. It aims to facilitate integrated development of existing and new facilities in Staffin. In particular, it aims to maximise and consolidate the use of building space by taking advantage of existing facilities which each building and organization offers, and co-ordinating development plans.

Four key strands that comprise the community fabric have been identified as strategic priorities which form the foundation of the framework. These are: Health and Recreation (led by Staffin Hall Committee), Learning and Leadership (led by Columba 1400); Culture, Arts and Heritage (led by Staffin Trust); Livelihoods and the Economy (all organizations). As part of this framework, the key objective of the Staffin Community Trust for 2003/04 has been to develop the ecomuseum project, originally Museum in the Environment
